Dear Parents & Students,

1. We will not have extra-curricular classes this Sunday, 4/22/18. Please pick up your child(ren) at 3:45 pm.

2. Depending on which teacher your child has, final exams/tests are happening this Sunday. Please encourage your students to prepare at home.r /> 3. Pre-registration is this Sunday, 4/22/18 and next Sunday, 4/29/18. Please consider in pre-registering before year ends to take advantage of the discount.
Please see attached forms, print, complete and bring them to the front desk together with your check. Pre-registering before 2:30 pm this Sunday is highly recommended.

Tuition is $155 per student ($165 after pre-registration).
Extracurricular is $45 per student ($50 after pre-registration)
PTO $10 per Family (same).

Extra-curricular classes next year will include Chinese yo-yo, GO board game, Chinese folk dance, and taekwondo.

GO (圍棋) class! GO is an ancient board game consisting of a grid and black and white pieces, is easy to learn but incredibly intellectual in nature, and can appeal to thinkers young and new. This extracurricular class is open to students of all ages, including adults.
If you like games and/or thinking and/or aren't quite sure what extracurricular class to sign up for, I highly encourage you to check this class out!

If any parents would like to lead an extra-curricular class, please let me know. For example, ping pong, calligraphy, arts and crafts, etc.

4. For early pick ups in the future, please email or contact your child's teacher and let him/her know before hand and make plans. On the day of early pick up, please go to the classroom (s) to check out your child(ren) from the teacher(s).

5. The school is trying to get a head count for pizza and drinks on 4/29/18. Please RSVP to http://evite.me/ed88hBsmfv the latest by 4/25/18 so we can plan accordingly.

Dear Parents & Students,

1. This Sunday, 4/15/18, will be the last day for the extra-curricular classes for this semester. Please pick up your child(ren) at 4:45 pm.

3. Pre-registration is coming up soon. It will occur on 4/22/18 and 4/29/18. Please consider in pre-registering before year ends to take advantage of the discount.

4. I understand that it is more fun to wait for rides outside the school now that warmer weather is upon us. However, we asked that all students to wait inside the building for safety reasons. They are not being closely monitored when they are outside. Please talk to your children. Thanks for your cooperation.

Greg Wu is a Partner at the law firm of Shook Hardy & Bacon here in town. He is also a board member of the KC FilmFest, which is taking place this weekend at the Cinemark on the Plaza and one of the movies we are showing this weekend is “The Final Blade,” made by a Chinese filmmaker from Beijing, Willie Ying. Willie is visiting KC from Beijing for the showing of his movie on Friday night at 6 pm, and Mr, Wu will be conducting a Q&A with Wille after the show. Willie is a veteran stunt performer, having appeared in the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel as well as on the Power Rangers TV show.

The film is a modern interpretation of the classic kung fu genre and it most recently won best feature in December 2017 from the London Independent Film Awards.

Anyone who is interested in attending can contact Mr. Wu (816-559-2189 or GWU@shb.com) directly and he will have tickets reserved for you under your name at their box office.

Mr. Wu said the first 20 ticket requests will be free – first come, first serve. After that, you can purchase tickets for $5 at kcfilmfest.org with the code BLADE.

2. We are currently looking for substitute teachers to teach. Parents who are interested or know who are interested, please contact me or Sophia Zhu, Director of curriculum.

3. Chinese School is looking for a parent volunteer to take over the Treasurer position. It is a paid position. Basic accounting is preferred but not necessary. He or she will be trained by our current Treasurer. Please let me know if you are willing to help. Thanks.
