Dear Parents & Students,
We are so excited for the Chinese New Year celebration this coming Sunday, Feb 11th starting at 1:30pm. Here are some reminders:

1. The Chinese New Year celebration will be held in the Gym. Please park the cars behind the school building at Gym parking lot and enter from the gym entrance.

2. Attached is the list of food and drinks that we need for the celebration. Please drop off your food or drinks at the food station by 1:30 pm this Sunday.

3. We will continue to sell the raffle tickets, $1.00 for 2 tickets, this Sunday at the entrance. We have more than 50 prizes including lots of gift cards, cash, household appliances and restaurant certificates.

4. The Chinese New Year cultural activities will start at 1:45. You can accompany your kids to the cultural booths or walk around. Then we will have our performance program starting at 2:45.

5. Please note our school Chinese New Year Celebration is not opening to the public. It is for our students, our family and our friends only. Welcome to wear your Chinese clothes.

6. We still need some volunteers to assist at the cultural activities stations during our CNY celebration at school on 2/11/18. Please click the link below to sign up to help if you are able and interested.

7. We need some volunteers to take pictures for our school Chinese New Year Celebration event, please email me if you are willing to help. Thanks.

8. We are currently looking for substitute teachers to teach. Parents who are interested or know who are interested, please contact me or Sophia Zhu, Director of curriculum.

9. The Treasurer position is open again. Please contact me if you or another parent is interested.

Dear Parents and Students,

1. We are currently looking for substitute teachers to teach. Parents who are interested or know who are interested, please contact me or Sophia Zhu, Director of curriculum.

2. We still need some volunteers to assist at the cultural activities stations during our CNY celebration at school on 2/11/18. Please click the link below to sign up to help if you are able and interested.

3. The Chinese New Year raffle ticket sale will start this Sunday (2/4) at the front desk for 3 tickets/$1.00. Your can also purchase the tickets on the celebration day, Feb. 11th, 2 tickets/$1 .00.

4. Please see attached food and drink list to bring for our school CNY celebration on 2/11/18. Please provide the item(s) that is/are assigned to your child's/children's class(es). Please bring these items the day of the event.

5. You are invited to celebrate I-LAN's Lunar New Year at Ironhorse Golf Club, Sunday, February 18, 2018. It is $30 per person. RSVP required. Deadline is February 5, 2018. Please see attached flyer.

6. Just a reminder, we will have a severe weather drill this Sunday at 2:20pm. Please follow teachers' direction to the shelter in the lower level.

Dear Parents and Students,

1. Same as last year, we will be collecting gift cards or cash from each class for the Chinese New Year celebration raffle drawings this Sunday (1/28). We suggest that each student bring a $5.00 gift card or red envelope cash donation if able. Please make sure to turn them into either your teacher or room parent. Teachers and room parents may bring them to the front desk staff latest by the end of class.

6. We will have a free Tax Planning Seminar from our sponsor Cecilia Chou this Sunday (1/21/18) in the Chinese School from 1:45 in Room 100. She will talk about updates on Tax Legislation and Impacts on us. Please the attachment for more details and plan to attend.

7. There are still some openings in GO, Chinese Folk Dance and Taekwondo classes. Please contact the front desk for enrollment.

GO (圍棋) class! GO is an ancient board game consisting of a grid and black and white pieces, is easy to learn but incredibly intellectual in nature, and can appeal to thinkers young and new. This extracurricular class is open to students of all ages, including adults.
If you like games and/or thinking and/or aren't quite sure what extracurricular class to sign up for, I highly encourage you to check this class out!

2. We will need your big support for the Chinese New Year Celebration. If you own a business and would like to support the Celebration while promoting your business simultaneously, your are very welcome to donate any products or services for drawing.
Your donations are tax deductible and will be listed on the sponsor list on the Celebration program sheet. Please bring all of your donations to the front desk by Jan. 28th.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday and winter break. The Chinese School will resume this coming Sunday, Jan. 7th, 2018. Spring semester registration will continue this week and next week.
Please remember to bring your check to register if you have not done so. Please note that there is no extracurricular class this Sunday 1/7.
